MEXICO CITY, Sep 17, 2004 (Mexico Analytica/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Juan Manuel De Nigris, vice president of the board of Vitro said that it was an error to look at China merely as a competitor. "With this country that exports so much, but also imports a great deal, there are many complementary things and business opportunities that we Mexicans must take advantage of", said the executive.
Interviewed during his trip to Beijing, where he is taking part in the trade missions organized by the National Foreign Trade Bank (Bancomext) and the Mexican Foreign Trade Council (COMCE), De Nigris highlighted the importance of meetings that the Mexican business leaders are holding with their Chinese counterparts.
"They are helping us find out how to take advantage of the opportunities that are open to us in that immense market, to see the complementation that exist in the investments of Chinese partners that want to set up in Mexico and take advantage of the great potential of our export platform, and also to prepare us to face the challenges of such high competition as in the Chinese economy", added De Nigris.
